For The Attention Of Wolf63

this is copied from the other posting - Conne - your dog, you mentioned on the other thread (somewhere) that you are having a wee problem with him. Can you not get some sort of visual aid that is triggered by him whining or barking. Or get somebody to train him to physically tell you when he wants out?
This was a random thought that wandered through my brain earlier, I was trying to ignore my little boy cat by pretending to be asleep. He was trying to get an early breakfast

All he really neds to do i BARK BARK and I would definitely hear him - as I said - I think he doesn't want to go out into the cold and the other thing - keeps me in his sight in case I go without him - I may have married an ole fella - looks at me changing dressing - knows the difference between bed and me going out - when going out - he drops his head as if in sadness. I will never win here.
Conne - now that we have managed, between us, to confuse everybody I have come back to the computer. :-)
I don't know how you would go about training a dog to change how it barks. The two dogs that I had book woofed very very deeply and loudly. I know that 'assistance dogs' are trained to nudge their human to alert them to something. Try the RNID - or the Irish version if there is one.
Have you mentioned it to the vet?
Whatever you do - good luck with it.

Litter trays are good. My lady cat is no problem - doesn't make a noise or a mess. Her brother pees over the tray, the side of the tray, over the side of the tray and up the wall. Then he has to dig to Australia and back again in the litter. After this he cleans his paws on anything that he can - a wall, a carpet, a tile and sometimes the bit of cardboard supplied for the cleaning of paws. Then he trails litter throughout the house.
Theoretically you could use a litter tray - or get a doggie door http:// www.sur eflap.c o.uk/pr oducts/ details /19-mic rochip- pet-doo r I think that is a small dog that you have.
