I adopted a 7 year old German Shepherd about 4 months ago where she used to live on a farm. Yesterday on a walk with my friend and his dog she randomly attacked another little terrier dog and killed it (according to my mate, not 100%) and its been on my mind ever since but worst case scenario what can happen? My mate said the dogs leg was hanging off despite me puttin my hands in my dogs jaw to seperate them and all i seen was deep teeth wounds with some blood. He also said the vet bill was £2000 which leads me to believe hes not telling the truth. My dog has never attacked a dog before and i dont know what made her tick. It also confuses me that my dog was completely fine around my mates dog.

Also, whilst trying to seperate the dogs, the terrier turnt around and bit my knee and i needed a new tetanus injection.

By law, where do i stand?

Didn't you see whether the other dog was dead or not? Worse case scenario I'd guess is you will get charged and your dog may be put down - but I'm guessing.
where do you stand? On the other leg, if that one is injured!
Cross posting's a bit frowned upon but in this case I would suggest you also post (with apologies) this in law where you're likely to get noticed by those with a good grasp of legal issues.

Not quite sure who the owner of the dog that was killed was and how your friend knew what the vets bill was - perhaps you could clarify that
That is a very confusing post!

//Also, whilst trying to seperate the dogs, the terrier turnt around and bit my knee and i needed a new tetanus injection.// so you were there?

What was the vet bill for? ask to see a receipt.
Were you there, did you witness it?

One of my dogs was attacked by a German Shepherd and badly injured, my dog was just a puppy at the time and the German Shepherd had played with my dog many times.

///attacked another little terrier dog and killed it (according to my mate, not 100%)///

You could maybe make a start by finding out how many % dead it is,
Dead dogs do not need £2000 worth of treatment
This post does not make sense - in one breath you are saying your mate walked the dog and in another breath you are saying the terrier turned on you!!

If your dog did the damage to the terrier then £2000 is feasible, the dog could have died despite heroic measures by the vet - you would still be responsible.

There is a reason that farm got rid of a 7 year old bitch!!

Sorry for confusion but after i seperated the dogs she ran off without sayin a word. All the info im getting is through a friend.
"She randomly attached another little terrier dog and killed it (according to my mate, not 100%)" Can a dog be killed 50% or 99%? Either killed or not IMO.
She?
Dog, owner, friend?
I suspect owner, which leads to the question, how does your mate know its dead?
Im glad im not the only one totally confused here!
Question Author
Obviously not 100% dead. I meant im not 100% sure on whether it is dead or not
///after i seperated the dogs she ran off without sayin a word///

Who did, your Dog?
Your making this hard work.
I already asked that balders.
Question Author
Just had confirmation the dog did die and bill is £2000
/// I meant im not 100% sure on whether it is dead or not ///

Strange, your OP title says it was?
Cross-posted there ^^^^
why if your dog was involved in this, and the dog in question has died as a result, didn't the friend contact the police. I would have thought that was customary in cases like this.
Pay it and hope your dog does not get put down!!
