Neighbour's Cat Killing Birds

Can someone please tell me how to deter my neighbour's cat from killing the wild birds which I feed - not on the ground - I have spoken to them and asked they put a bell round its neck, but this has not deterred it.

Any suggestions? - Thanks to all who reply.

Should have added, I've got one that hangs from a hanging basket holder, local cats have no opportunity.

Isn't that what cats do? - which is why they deserve the water-pistol treatment on each and every opportunity.

There isn't much you can deter cats from save making something impossible for them.

I have a cat and had two before and I wouldn't feed the birds in my garden, I tend to go and put bird seed by the entrance to my local park (very close) when it is cold, icy/snow etc... so that the birds can get it there as they tend to nestle in the hedgerows nearby.

Cats are deterred from that area, I'd have thought, due to the amount of dogs being walked up and down there (and inevitable smell of dogs).

You don't get to see them though I figure if they get the food they need then that is the main thing.

A few months ago I began to have a few new cats visiting my garden. I bought an Ultrasonic cat repeller...pricey I know but so far it is working. Now, will they get used to it? I don't know, but for now the birds are happy. x

You can get products from the garden centre that contain lion's poo which is supposed to deter cats.

feed your cat more food, it's instinctively hunting because it feels hungry, my cat will hunt if it is on dried food but doesn;t seem to bother if it's on tinned food,

Super soaker is the way to go, squirrels don't like it up 'em as well:-)
