They also tend to suffer health problems due to their flat faces. I would look around for a specialised Persian cat rescue centre and send them to someone who actually wants them and knows the breed well.
If you are insistent on keeping them they will need a flea and worming treatment, they will need to be checked to see if they are spayed/neutered as well. Try them with both dry and wet foods as some cats will only eat one or the other, little and often is best. All cats sleep a lot so I wouldn't worry about that aspect too much, if they are hungry they will sleep more due to lack of energy.
It really makes my blood boil when people just abandon their animals!

Litter trays....
Get two separate trays, don't locate them near where the cats are fed as they don't like to eat and defecate in the same area, use a wood based litter, it is much cheaper, less messy and most cats like it as opposed to the grit or clay based ones. Make sure you clean out the solid waste as soon as they do it (or as near as poss), empty the tray and clean it with mild washing up liquid at least every second or third day.

By the way, their colour is known as 'blue' not steel grey :).
