Roly the tortoise seems to be off his food for the past couple of days. He usually enjoys his food outside in the sun but for some reason he doesn't eat much at all. It's only the end of August, so a little early for him to be slowing down for hibernation. All he seems to want to do is scramble back in the house, get behind the settee and snooze. We've had him 30 years and he wasn't a baby when we got him so he could be at leat 40 or 50. Can't remember him being like this before. Anyone else's tortoise been through this?

Quizzywig all mine are up and about still and very active (although not today as it's pouring with rain and a bit cold) What kind is it? I have a Horsefields, two Marginated and a Hermans. All very different characters and active at different parts of the day but as I said, still very avtive and eating well.
Maybe try giving him a warm bath then offering some of his favourite food - I give mine cucumber when it's very, very hot to keep them hydrated and they have a shallow bath in their enclosure as well.

A warm bath seems just the thing and I'll get the strawberries ready and go hunting for dandelions. Thank you.
