English Bull Terriers are my favourite dog breed, but cats are best really.

'I do like mongrels, but you just can't seem to find them for sale these days??? :-/ '

That's because they are now sold as 'designer' breeds. Cockapoos, Labradoodles etc are, in my humble opinion, just expensive mongrels :0/

Best breed? Great Danes for me any day of the week... or sofa hoggers as they are call in my house lol

I do like dogs, but much prefer cats. However my son and family have a Springador and he is ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. What a lovely a temperament he has.
The best breed is the right breed for your lifestyle and temperament. The GSD is my favourite breed although I have five Lancashire Heelers and just the one GSD. Heelers are not the breed for everybody much as I love them. The GSD as a breed can do virtually any job required of it and are the most loyal and trustworthy of all breeds if bred, reared and trained right.
GSDs same but more intelligent
Depends on the individual - I love my brother's West Highland Whites. I wouldn't want a big dog.
Baby_Sham, you get mongrels mainly from rescue centres.

No such thing as "Best Dog Breed" I love our Wolfhounds but they certainly are not the "Best Dog Breed" for many people, most of the so called best breeds mentioned so far, I wouldn't touch with a very long barge pole, I am a terrier lover but then again it would not suite my lifestyle now.

I dont know how anybody can claim that a mongrel is a best breed, they range too far, from nasty, spiteful crosses to lovable adorable ones.
Horses for courses!
