For 20+ years she has been a constant presence in my life and I shall miss her. We went to the vet at midnight last night where she was PTS as she had renal failure. Going to bury her in the garden this afternoon. All she knew was love and kindness so I guess that's as good as it gets for any living thing let alone an animal. RIP Maggie.
Just felt like doing a little obituary for her so please indulge me. Thank you.

Oh dear, I think I missed a very important point out of my post, or I arrogantly assumed you would all know from previous posts that Maggie was a cat. Sorry folks.
Sqad, I couldn't either, it won't actually be me digging a very deep hole in the garden but I will of course supervise:-)

Thank you again everyone for your kind thoughts.
These small creatures make such a big impression on our lives - my best wishes to you at this difficult time.

In sympathy

Iggy
At 20 years old I assumed she was a cat. I have three dogs, two of whom are 16 year old twins. I know it can't be long. Awful to lose cherished pets. :o(

Thank you RATTER, paddy, boxy and Iggy.
Naomi, I had a 16 year old three legged dog who had a heart attack and died in his bed one evening after we had been out for the day. He made it so easy for me, no awful decision to make, bless him. Wishing you many more happy days with all of yours. It is awful to lose them but I know there will be another cat or dog along soon - there are so many, make that too many, waiting for a home.

Maggie is now safely buried beneath my bedroom window. Strange, but I could have sworn I heard her scratching away at her scratching post a few minutes ago.
So sorry to hear your sad news ...xxx
