Why Do Cats Do This
these 2 cats arent ours but one has been coming here for nearly 6 years (belongs 3 doors down) and last year it brought a friend, the friend wasnt very friendly at first and we think it had been mistreated, it now allows me to stroke it and at night it cuddles upto the other one in the garage (its cottoned on that its safe in their) they do no damage at all whilst in there. the original cat is half the size of the new cat but the new cat likes to nudge the little one so it washes her face, the newer one very rarely washes the original one and i am curious as to what this means in the cat world

They are obviously good friends with the nudging and grooming. And also the fact that the original cat has taken his friend along to visit you is nice.
I am lost with grooming etiquette in cats, my two never groom each other. My girl cat spends hours grooming and her brother washes only when he has to.
Your visitors are cute. :-)
