Radiator Licker !!!!
hi peeps,
can anyone tell me why my dog has started to lick the radiators in my house to the point where he burns his tongue he is my 3rd bulldog and I have never had this with my other dogs, could it be a deficiency in his diet or am I just being overly concerned
cheers

Gary it could be he's stressed or not getting enough attention of exercise if all medical reasons have been ruled out. It does seem to be a particular problem with English BDs. Have a look at this link, it might help. Hope you get it sorted. We have a bulldog in our family, they're gorgeous....

As the human race has individuals with mental disorders, of sub-normal intelligence, etc., other species have theirs. The difference is that where the individuals are not protected, cared for and even pampered, in the natural environment these individuals eliminate themselves from the gene pool in accordance with the Darwin principle.
One of my cats licks carrier bags - it is seemingly something to do with animal oils in the manufacturing of the bags? I have tried asking him but he says that he just feels like doing it.
It could be that there is something wrong with your radiator (not sure what) or that he just enjoys doing it.
Is it always the same bit of the radiator? Maybe an air-bubble?
Dogs and cats live in a world of smell and sound - could he be detecting something that us humans would never be able to sense?
Good luck with your dog :-D
