Er, is there a link missing here . . or am I just being thick (again)?
My health would not stand it. First I am likely to be injured putting him in a cage, secondly I then have to listen to the howling. Then comes the protest poo.

*I'm talking about the cat, not the husband*
Food and water are also quite helpful
My goldfish wouldn't survive long in a cage.
Why???
The water would run out through the spaces between the bars. :-)
Same for friends & family.
dogs don't take kindly being caged, nor cats for that matter

Most of our meat originates from halls of torture, where animals are confined in such small spaces they can barely move. This is accepted by all.
not all gl556, many farms have free roaming animals. It pays for them to be so as they are better all round, for meat or dairy

not true in the uk
what i can't get on with is animals like rabbits in tiny cages for scientific research, testing, i know that it goes on but surely its time we stopped doing this.

I agree, emmie, that many farms have animals roaming freely; and it tells, when a pork chop hardly shrinks. The taste! Then there is the question of the origin of our foodstuffs. So much arrives from the EU.
There is really no proper labelling which would help to curtail the halls of torture found throughout Europe.

If you are going to talk about the taste of pork chops on one line of your post, and 'halls of torture three lines later, you are open to accusations of hypocrisy.
Eh? Silly statement to say the least. There is more to caring for a pet than shoving it in a cage.

a-h: No hypocrisy at all. After my writing about animals roaming freely, I praise their taste.
There is no indication of one being able to praise that from industry-reared live-stock incarcerated in cages throughout their miserable lives - in 'halls of torture', found throughout Europe.
The taste is of meat from free-roaming animals is in a class of its own; the price, too, but it is worth it.

Meanwhile, the Damocles of meat from US-American imports looms. If only we could believe Westminster that this will not be so.
If its labelled as to country of origin and method of production then what is the problem?
