Microsoft 365 Copilot Problem

I've just renewed my subscription to Microsoft 365. It includes CoPilot, which I didn't particularly want. I'm trying to write a Word document, but the so-called blank page keeps showing an icon to click on to have an AI version. I don't want this - there's no way it can produce the document I need, but I can't see how to delete it and start a new page. Any advice please?

it's just an icon, you don't have to use it.

I'm sure it will be, thank you  it looks just what I need. Just dashing out now but will try later.

I couldn't get rid of the icon, it just generated a template for a business letter whatever I tried earlier.

I have the same set up, I only every click on blank document. You must have set something on that's not in the way.

Thank you both, it's sorted now, I don't know what I'd done before. However, I am very cross with myself because (too late) I see that I could have installed the basic Microsoft 365 without CoPilot....
