Does My Dog Know What I'm Doing?

My vet wants me to send a video of Jay when he's having a coughing"fit".  He's lying on a sofa diagonal to me and the minute he sees me pick up my phone to start the video he stops coughing and just stares at me.  No movement just stares.

How do I solve this folks?  Any ideas?

Probably just curious which takes it's mind of the cough.

Perhaps just wait with the phone ready and he might lose interest and have a cough?

Not really but depending on how often he coughs have you tried just sitting with your phone in your hand - say looking at AB - and completely ignoring him?  Maybe when he gets used to that he'll ignore the phone - and then you can pounce.

Thank you folks.  Good idea, I will pick up my phone the minute he comes back from his walk and see how we go.  He usually does the opposite of what you want.  He's excellent at that.  Do love him though.

if hes anything like mine, he can be afast asleep and i get up for a wee and he'll jump up and come with me.  I justwant to say to hom "just stay there, you look comfy and im really not doing anything interesting or anything i need help with"

Hide behind the door & when he's not looking. Film him.

Sharon I can't move at all without his eyes opening to see what I'm doing.  Honestly, if I turn my head slightly from the TV or my keyboard his eyes will open.  My neck doesn't crick so no idea how he knows.
