i adopted a rescue dog on friday and i noticed he is really bald underneath from his chest to his back legs.he has no sores besides on his elbows from i guess lying on a cold concrete floor at the rescue.he has a healthy appetite and seems happy in himself.has anyone any suggestions please?

Hi lottiesmum, congratulations on your new addition!! Was nothing mentioned at the rescue center about his skin condition? If not maybe the answer is what you have suggested, if so the hair should grow back soon enough. If you are worried give them a ring.

thanks for your reply .i have been to the health shop and was advised to use flax seed oil so he is on that now and will see how he goes x
Swollen Callus on a dog is uncommon, try using sudream cream, it is a wonder cream

We rescued a pointer that was in a similar state, it had been in kennels for 8months. It had hardly any fur from his chest to his back legs and was also thin of coat on his back. The kennels said the dog had got depressed and was not eating probably and lost weight and coat condition because of it. With a warm bed ,a lot of feeding up and TLC,
his condition soon improved. Ten years on , as I type this, he is sat there watching me, The hairy devil
