hello, i've heard that somecats wont go in a litter tray if its too clean (that may sound silly but its true) when we moved my kitten (8 months old) started to go to the toilet in my bath, and wouldnt go in the litter tray (bearing in mind having no problems before), so i waitied until she was gona go again in the bath then quicky picked her up and put her in the litter tray, then she knew to go in there from now on. also use lemon where you dont want her to go to the toilet as they dont like this smell. i hope she learns soon, with time and patience! x
You know when you smell a perfume that you like and it makes you go WHORRRRRR, Catnip does that for cats!suggest that you spray the cat litter and tray with a catnip spray from your local pet store.Always do that for Cat posts, and to attract them away from using your furniture as their personal scratchpost?
my kittens started using their tray, and then one day i caught the boy behind the flower pot! i was cleaning their tray every other day but think it was not clean enough. I now take out all soiled matter every day, leaving the unsoiled, and clean in the shower every couple of weeks. i find this way its almost brand new every day, but still retains their smell, and then when i wash it i make sure they're watching so they know whats happening. seems to work fine for us.
This may sound stupid but one of my cats (they both r litter trained) at the age if about 16 weeks started not to use the litter tray but to go in my swing bin (for the rubbish) instead, i got another litter tray because i thought it might not want to share and i cleaned them reg evry day (totally fresh litter) but she insisted on going in the bin I ended up searching the net for help and came across cat physciatrist who promised to help and after 3 months and quite a bit of money I have the most well trained cat (litter n in general) in the world. Perseverance is the key, dont give up. Hope you found this helpful
