vets do not give any vaccinations to people
I had mine done at my GP for free. But I had been bitten.
I would recommend you call your local GP for info.

steve2010 - maybe what i heard was that you can buy the actual vaccination itself from a vet school- but get it injected at your docs. i think i'll have to do my research elsewhere. thanks anyway!
As far as I know vet schools don't treat people nor do they give out human medicines!

Your doctor's surgery is the place to get this jab.
My SiL is a medic and I was joking with her that I would much rather be treated by the vet. She stated that vets can treat humans but doctors cannot treat animals.
I think vets choose not to go down that route of treating humans as they'd be innundated lol.... it's all to do with their kind manners and bedside care :-)
I was just going to say what beryllium mentioned. Both my dog and I were down with a similar virus once and the vet said (jokingly I think) that he could give me something for it.

He said that he is allowed to treat humans but that my GP would not be able to treat my dog or cat.

I mentioned it to my doctor and he agreed and said that nothing would persuade him to take on an itsy bitsy pussy cat that was ill - I think that he was used to patients who don't bite, hiss and claw you to death.
