My parokeet layed an egg and I was wondering if she has to sit on it or not?

It depends on one thing. Do you want to have a baby parokeet? If not just take the egg away. If you do then just let her sit on it. Becareful if you want to pat her or get her out of the cage. She may stand up and flap at you and in the process she might stand on the egg too. Just be careful. If you do let her sit on it, good luck and wish the new baby bird a happy life from me.
Hi, it would depend more on whether she is part of a breeding pair or not. Is she kept on her own or with a mate? If she is on her own take the egg away as it is useless. Even if she is in a pair and there is a chance the egg has been fertilised [sp] you would need to have a breeding box in place.
