Dogue De Bordeaux
Hi, I currently have a small terrier cross breed dog who is 18 months old and a Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch at 2 years old. We are looking to extend our family and are considering a Dogue De bordeaux but are unsure if this breed would be ok in an already large family or does this breed prefer to be an only dog. Any information whatsoever would be much appreciated.
Thankyou

They also give breeders and breed rescue.
As I am sure you are aware they are not a dog to be taken on lightly, I would speak to lots of breeders and read up a lot before going ahead.

Please don't think these dogs are big babies!
They are an extremely strong, very dominant, guarding breed and need to be handled correctly. If a male is challenged by another large male dog then you will have problems holding him back.
They need VERY careful handling, they are very stubborn and not a breed to be messed with. I would not like to get in the way when one decided to deal with a challenge from anything!

especially the temperament bit.
Do not take any chances with these dogs, because of their size and power you only have to get it wrong once!
They are not a dog for a novice owner and you really have to be prepared for what you are taking on, no way are they gentle giants!
scatch: you might get away with a male as your Ridgeback is a female, but remember if you get it wrong they are two very big dogs to try and seperate if they fight!
