I have always telephoned my order to them, paying by Switch and even when I phoned them after 4 in the afternoon I got the item in the post the following morning!

They sell lots of animal stuff, leads, dog coats, etc.

Thanks so much kita1.Excellent link.
You can also buy a small rubber knobbly thing that fits on your finger from most pet shops.

Have you thought of trying Fragaria, it is a homeopathic tablet that breaks down the plaque. You give one a day for a month, then one a week for a maintenance dose. 100 in a bottle, for about a fiver, so a bottle lasts one dog 18 months. Perfectly safe and can be given if the dog is on medication.

Thankyou lankeela. That knobbly thing is what I tried to describe to my local pet shop and wilko pet area but to no avail. At the moment ,fortunately,my lab doesnt have any plaque but I shall continue to watch for that as she gets older.
When I worked in an office the accountant had one to count the money with and we used to call it the 'Threadgold Thoroughgrip Fingerette' but don't know if that was the real name, or whether someone in the office made it up!
Sorry go to Pet Planet and type in 'toothbrush' and the Hatchwells finger toothbrush should come up.
The link above should not have a space between the two 's'

OOPS!!! I mean choice of course.
Just testing
Dont bother with all that crap! Give your dog a bone!! A nice big raw knuckle will do the job and the dog will love it!!
Question Author
Thanks for your answer snappy. She does get Jumbones and Dentistix to chew on and I think that ,along with the occaisional clean from me,is why her teeth are in good condition still. It helps the vet too knowing that she will let him have a good look in her mouth at her check ups .
I use an old electric toothbrush on my dog and he likes it better than anything else I've tried - I think it's the vibration.

However, I agree with Snappy that a nice big bone is the very best cleaner. I would think Jumbones cause plaque rather than cure it, and I'm not convinced about Dentastix.
Question Author
Thankyou for your advice hocky.Didnt know that about the jumbone,I will keep an eye on that. She has never had a real bone,I would be too scared of her chocking on a knuckle or getting splinters off a bone.
You are wise not to give bones, they can cause more trouble than they are worth!

They can also break their teeth on bones, as well as getting bits stuck in their stomach and intestines.

One way to keep the vets in a job!
