Dog breed in LIttlewoods ad?

What's the name of the breed of dog shown in the new Littlewoods ad with Trinny & Susannah. It's a large black dog with slobber chops, walking with the guards.
Wasn't sure if this category or adverts but I figured more dog experts in here.

It is a great dane - I was on the shoot. It's the same dog used in the magazine adverts. In the tv ad the head and body of the dog were distorted using special effects to make it more distinctive.
