Try bathing him. He may be peeing on his belly fur or on his legs if he ***** his leg.

we gave him a bath on sunday but the smell has returned, it really is quite pungeant. It started about 2 weeks ago, we thought that maybe he had been walking through cat wee outside, but the smell is definatley coming from him.
Ithink you need a visit to his vets,he could have a urine infection ect not worth risking his health.Good luck with your laddie.
is he not peeing in his bed then lying in it. My pug did this as a puppy and he stunk. If not take to him to vets to be on safe side
Question Author
he is toilet trained and never wees in the house, i think we should maybe take him to the vet. thanks everyone!!!
Try and moniter how much he is drinking over say 24 hours, the vet will find this helpful. It may be that he is not drinking enough and that is why it smells (because it is concentrated).

It could well be a simple infection.

Does he c*ck his leg yet? Maybe like lankeela says he is peeing on his fur (hasn't got it quite right yet!).

he start c*cking his leg about 3 weeks ago. He doesnt drink very much water so maybe it is a bit concentrated. He is very fussy eater, the only thing different we have given him in the last few weeks is weetabix (which he loves) thanks again all of you xx
