Barking mad
The occupants of a 3 bed average sized house just around the corner from me own 5 dogs, and they are all medium - big dogs, Alsatians, Labradors etc.
They appear to allow them to be in the garden all day and they bark continually. I and quite a few of the nearer neighbours are really fed up with this constant racket.
What should I do? The owners are totally unapproachable.

If so, what happened? It seems to be a noise and potential welfare issue (can you tell if they have food, water, shelter? If so, the RSPCA will do jack all to help). If the owners are aware of this and are making no moves to work on it, then get in touch with your local Council's Environmental Health dept. and urge your other fed up neighbours to do the same. You'll be asked to fill in a noise diary for (I think) about 2-4 weeks.
P'raps other ABers can give a bit more advice.
Good luck, keep us updated! Lisa x

Hi yes try the council.
I have 7 big dogs who thankfully don't bark much.A new neighbour who moved in 8 weeks ago didn't even realise we had dogs.
Someone in our village also has 7 dogs and monkeys who are caged outside. The neighbours complained about the noise to the council and I know some of the dogs have been rehomed.

If totally unapproachable, the local council is your answer. Get in touch with the noise pollution department. You may have to fill in a form over a period of 6 weeks, the council should then take it up on your hehalf. Be warned though, if you then wish to sell your property, I am pretty sure you would have to declare noisy/problem neighbours.
All the very best.
