Hi there I have just re turfed one side of our lawn and fenced it of so the dog does not go on it. I have recently bought some green um tablets that nuetralises the acid in dog wee to stop lawn burn,he has been taking them since last monday (and he seems to love them).
My question here is as I am almost ready to take the fence down and re turf the other side do any of you know how long does he has to take them before they become effective and it is safe to let him wee on the lawn as it does not say on the bottle.
Cheers......

I spoke to a vet about dog urine and killing grass not so long ago and i'm sure he said it was down to the protein in dog wee and there was very little you could do to stop it.

Please let me know how you get on with this stuff as i have (read HAD) a lovely new lawn until my springer got on it !!!

Hi there hammerman lets hope thats not right as he has already ruined one new lawn that I laid 2 years ago this is the second attempt. The vets where I take him for his injections say it is down to the acid and they should work, but will look it up on the web.

Will make a note to get back to you after a few months and let you know how I get on............
our dogs have been on green ums for about 4 months with no joy.we are still getting bad lawn burn and are still looking for a cure.
Has anyone tried dog rocks? They are rocks you put in their drinking water. Not sure if they work, but i'm concidering giving them a go!
