I've just been cuddling my german shepherd and have noticed her pads are very dry and has small cracks on them, is there anything you can suggest to put on them to soften them up, baring in mind she may lick them more if she likes the taste ? She is'nt in any pain or discomfort .

Buy her some booties, she will love little pink ones ha ha. Seriously, put some vaseline on them and put a pair of old socks over them for the night.
Give her a BIG cuddle from me SG x

Can you imagine her with a pair of pink booties on--- what pink fluffy ones. I did think to put vasaline on but as I said she may lick it off she would probably think it was a treat.
don't forget the socks after - yes pink fluffy ones preferably
You don't want to soften her paws too much especially if she regularly walks on concrete or stony places, her pads will be a l lot worse off if they are soft, however I agree with lankeela, udder cream is good especially if they are really cracked, just don't overdo it.
