Take the rabbit to the vet asap. If it is dehydrated then it may have suffered organ damage.

The vet will rehydrate it properly with water and the right mix of salts, minerals and vitamins. If you just give it water it might end up with a mineral imbalance which will also affect its internal workings!!!!

I agree! Dehydration shuts the kidneys down and damages vital organs. When we used to leave our bunnies, I bought three large waterers and two food dishes for them. I never left them for more than a week at a time. i also had someone check to make sure they did not run out of food and especially water. Definitely take the rabbit to the vet for rehydration. The vet can determine if your pet can be saved and administer the proper rehydrating fluids. It may be that the organ damage it has suffered is irreversible.
You couldn't get anyone to feed/water your "beloved" pet whilst you were away?

and now instead of taking it straight to the vets you're on here???

Some people begger belief!!

Stuck in mountains, search and rescue found! No vet for a long distance plus no transportation tell I get my car back!
No phone either I suppose...so that you could have rung someone to go and care for your rabbit. People like you make me sick. You should'nt be allowed to keep animals. Well....what comes around goes around etc etc

no idiot phones dont work up in these mountains. get the point i was lost! did not have a stupid phone or that problem would of solved itself. are all people as rude in the uk as you and boo? not a place i'd want to visit then! by the way finally found a vet that did house calls and my bunny is fine, so go jump off a cliff!!! if you got any there or even know what one is!
emevol, im glad to here your rabbit is ok :)
I know from experience it can be hard, when my fella went away for a work trip and was going to have his sister to come pick up the dog and drop in to feed the cats, but he forgot to drop the key off at his sisters, (yes stupid i know!) i had to spend 4 hours a day on a bus back n forward til i could arrange with his sister to pick up the dog,
If your stuck for longer then expected, even if you could contact someone, they may not have a key, and what are they meant to do? break the door in & leave the place open for any one to enter?
