Always. A cold wet nose means a healthy dog. Warm and dry means you could have a problem.
Hi debbie, not at all! When I first got my pup, I was concerned that his nose wasn't always cold and wet! I asked the vet about it, and she said that it was a bit of a myth that a wet nose equalled a healthy dog, and that I had nothing to worry about :)
Puppies noses should usually be wet, and they will be whenever they smell something new or are just sniffing in general. However, if there is actual mucus and you can hear congestion, that would be the time to take it to the vet. And mucus being the gross yellow stuff, not the clear liquid that will sometimes drip from their noses.
