kitten in season dilemma
Hi all please advise,
We have 2 kittens brother and sister. Both are 6 months and due for spaying/neutering this week. We also have a 3 year old tom cat. The girl is in season and we are aware that she could get pregnant. How should we keep the 3 within the house? Should we keep the female in a room on her own or are we ok to leave her alone with her brother?
Any help would be much appreciated,
thanks

I would advise keeping the female in a seperate room
so neither cat can get to her. Make sure the windows are closed to. I learn't my lesson the hard way and ended up with Russian Blue cross kittens. Where there's a will theres a way! Even out of the smallest window!

I would have a word with the vet. My 51/2 month old kitten got out last weekens and went awol for 48 hours before my idiotic shouting and walking round the streets alerted the home owner whose garden she was lost in!!! Anyway I rang the vet quick as she was booked in for spaying next month. He said if I got her done within a week or so then all would be ok. Ok I do not encourage aborting kittens but I certainly do not think a 5 month old kitten having kittens is good either and luckily my vet agreed. Not sure if they will do in season though I know they wont do the dog in season. Good luck.
