pets as alarm clocks
28 Answers
This morning I woke up with my cat cleo wrapped around my head...her fluffy tail was curled around my left ear, and her head rested against my right cheek as she "paddled" my shoulder and rumbled "food"...lol This was definatly a wake-up call...almost like the moggy I had many years ago that would lick my ears to get me up. What strange or silly methods do your pets use to wake you in the morning?

Like clockwork, my morning alarm is the clip clop clip clop of horses going down the lane for their day of leisure. Ive always considered that the first call. Second call is what I initially originally thought was my heart, going into the convulsive fits of a heart attack. Thankfully, it has (so far) turned out to be our Jack Russell, Mr. Piddles. If I dont respond quickly enough, Im guaranteed to receive a rather aggressive lick to the eyelids, in Mr Piddles determination to ensure Im awake.
I just keep reminding myself how grateful I am that we dont have a St Bernard!

I've noticed that most of the posts are about cats which reminded me of one week end when we were stopping at my mothers, something woke me during the night and I opened my eyes to see one (it seemed huge) green eye about 1in from my face. I nearly s**t myself until I realised it was my Tiger my mums old one eyed tomcat but I never felt comfortable near that cat after that. By the way pastafreak its not just women in this thread
My youngest cat licks my eyebrows to wake me up, and if this doesn't work she'll sit on my face.
When I was younger and didn't want to get up for school my mum would stand at the bottom of the stairs, holding our border collie's collar, then shout "go get her!" and he'd run up the stairs and hurl himself onto my stomach, completely winding me! This would be followe by alot of licking and growling at the same time!!
Yes pastafreak I have read Marley and Me, its great isn't it!
My favoutrite trick was him eating the pregnancy test, it had me in fits of laughter!!
