Tropical fish?
Last week I went to the garden centre and a lad who works in the fish part put in the tropical tanks some chunks of cucumber and he said they like a bit of cucumber and like to nibble at it and after three days you take out the leftovers. has anyone else heard that?

Courgettes and cucumbers are good and some people put a slice of raw potato in for their plecos.
A squashed and de-shelled pea or two goes down well too.
I would be inclined to only leave it in the tank for 24 hours...although mine only lasted a few hours. Also, buy some lead strips like you get for aquatic plants to weigh the veg down.
