my ten month old bitch is 22 days into her first season and still in full flow you know up the tele oll over the sofa and carpets how long is too long for the bleedeing i asked the vet they said normal but this is like a tap

She has a little spotting for about 3 weeks and then almost nothing for a week. I think a season lasts about 4 weeks in total.
I should think about having her spayed if you don't want pups as you will have to put up with this twice a year! The next time will be about 6 months on from now.

My youngest German Shepherd (now spayed thankfully) hadn't read the text books either, she left large pools on the floor and then dripped everywhere, if the police had come in they would have thought someone had been brutally murdered!!! I kid you not. Every bitch is different but do keep the vet informed if you are in any way concerned, is she eating and drinking normally? and does she seem happy? if so then she is probably absolutely fine and this is probably normal 'for her'.
