My 8 month old pup has finished her first heat but is still quite swollen. Her teats are also quite prominent. Will thery return to 'normal' again?

We were told to wait until her teats had gone back to normal until she was spayed. She was also producing milk and showing signs of being pregnant. This didn't settle down at all and she had to have medication. It's worth seeing your vet if things don't settle down soon.
"finished bleeding" doesn't always mean finished season and 24 days isn't l;ong for a season to last. The norm (ha no one's told the dogs) is 28 days. If she is generally well then give it a little longer them maybe a vet check, DO keep her away from males as it sounds like she might still be attractive
Hi Shivvy. Don't worry. You'll find that it will take ages for her 'bits' go go back to normal. With my bitch, it almost seems like her vulva has just gone back to it's normal size and it's off again for her next season. You'll find that although her teats will reduce from the size they are now, they'll never return to the flat state they were originally. She's hit doggy puberty and as as such her teats will remain prominent.
Thanks for your answers.
I have waited another while but her vulva still seems quite swollen and the area around her teats has started to darken in colour slightly over the last 2 days. It nearly looks as if she is lightly bruised around each of them.
I have made an appointment with the vet for tomorrow just to be sure everything is ok. I haven't experienced a dog going through a season before so it is hard to know what is 'normal' or not. She doesn't seem bothered or in pain or anything but it will still be good to get some reassurance from the vet.
