light in a plastic aquarium

I have a plastic fish tank (elite cool 21) i would like to put a light in it but not if i can or what one to use. i have brought one of the micro led lights that just stick on to the tank but this is giving off much light at all. does anyone have any information that can give me or tell me what light i can use and will give off the best light for my tank?
