My little cav lets me know by doing a sneezing motion!! Is this quite normal behaviour for a dog?

I'm not an expert on dog behaviour, so have no idea if that's "normal" or not, but if it works for you then great!! Better he/she lets you know with a sneezing motion, than not at all and you only know about it by stepping into a puddle!! We have a Staffy who just whines and stands by the back door when he needs to go out. If he whines by the front door then we know he's trying to tell us the cat wants to come in!

thanks snailrancher!!!!
Pickles (my Bedlington) just stands by the back door and if you ignore her she jumps up and gently bangs her paw on the door!!

If any living being is in her garden she bangs the door much harder!
Max comes and sits in front of me and barks once or twice, if i ignore him he starts to bark and doesn't stop till I get up and let him out.You can't ignore a GSD when he's barking down your ear
My youngest GSD will also just bark once, sometimes if she needs to go in the night, I will hear the bark and as I walk towards her she will start leaping up at the back door, she almost gets high enough to touch the ceiling with her nose, she leaves you in no doubt whatsoever that she is DESPERATE!! the other dogs are a bit more sedate, the other 2 GSD's will whine at the back door, my 'Borderline' Collie doesn't go out at night 'cos it's dark and scary, (I kid you not), during the day they have the dog door open.
Lola [Great Dane] rings a bell tied to the door handle :O}

My dog whistles when he wants to go out for a wee ! It's a normal whine but it has a whistling tone to it.

mmmmm!! thanks all!! sneezing must be quite unique then!!
But very cute all the same! I love Cavs - I'd have one if my family weren't allergic to long haired animals :-(
Elsa, my GSD, has a particular bark for when she needs to go out. It's totally different from her other barks. Jake, the collie, just pees on the floor!! (Not often, because I know when he needs to go so take him out regularly!!) It's OK, it's a tiled floor in the utility room, so it's easy to clean - just thought I'd add that in case any of you thought my place stinks of dog pee!!!
My pup chases her tail when she needs out for a pee or a poo. The more desperate she is, the faster she goes!!
My staff comes to me and then runs to the door until i let her out. Failing that she sits there and does that awful staffie cry
