missing cat
one of my 4 year old cats has been missing for 11 days now, we have put posters up with her pic on tel number etc. and posted in letter boxes around where we live. She has never gone out for more than a day and night in all her life, what are my chances of her coming home? The other cat seems frightened of goin past the garden at the moment, could she know something?

If you contact your local branch of Cats Protection(the UK's largest Cat Charity) they have a Lost & Found register, which might help,as anyone finding your cat can hopefully help it be reunited it with you.
Have a look here for your local branch:~

I know it's easier said than done, but try not to worry too much,I am sure she is fine, and will soon be back with you.

Its good that you have put posters up with her pic on. I had a cat keep coming to my back door for food last year. I thought she looked a bit lost,so i kept her fed,few days later I went up me local shop and saw her picture LOST,rang the owners straight away, they were so pleased, she had been missing for 2 weeks and had strayed 2 miles. so dont give up hope and keep sticking those posters up!
I am with Shaking on this one, she could well be locked in a shed or garage. Ask neighbours to take a look.
does she have a collar? it might be that it has got caught on a branch or something (I do not know how rural you are) keep looking and calling.
We found a cat last year and I took it to the local vet as the RSPCA and Cats Protection never responded to my calls. They took it in and found it a home. Try calling the vets in the area to see if anyone has taken her there.
I do hope you find her, the not knowing is difficult.

My Persian cat disappeared one day and was never seen again for almost exactly a year when, out of the blue, we had a phone call from a vet in a neighbouring town. She had been found abandoned and handed in. They had identified her through her micro chip. If your cat has a micro chip she is more likely to be identified.
We found out afterwards that she had been stolen and then the thief obviously got fed up with her and turfed her out.
She is happily recovered and back to full health now.
I hope your cat turns up. It is early days yet and if she was locked in somewhere the owner of the garage or shed may not go back to it for a while.
Best of luck hope she comes back.

Hi Thanks for all your kind and hopeful replies - i was beginning to give up hope, but now i'm sure she's out there somewhere, she is not microchipped and she actually lost her collar a few days (i but quick release ones and so i think they have found a way to get them off!) i caught her once putting her paw through it and pulling!! cheeky kitty :) we do live very close to woodlands so if she is there somewhere she will be eating well as she is a good hunter!
