who's dyson your american lover?
Question Author
its a vacuum.
Hi doomey! I have no idea why your dogs do it , just to add my two do it as well. going as far as picking up the brush and trying to kill it ! And the noise !!! I have to send my two dogs away from the vacuum , I can't stand it !!
My eldest tries to 'kill' my dyson, literally. I have tried everything to stop her, and have now resorted to putting her, and the others outside while I hoover. Only downside is if it is raining, I cant do the vacuuming, unless I want soggy dogs.
If its just when the Dyson is switched on......then switch it off!

Do they attack it when it's stored............bin the Dyson and get a Hoover.

Maybe the dog doesn't like the colour or smell......change both

Your probably onto somethign here, the noise of the machine is certainly louder than other vacuums on the market.

I wish my wife would let me use the excuse of "its raining outside, so I couldnt vacuum..." lol
Hi doomey!

You are not alone!!! My pup has hated the dyson from the word go! But now after a year or 2 pup accepts that i have to hoover - he now just scuttles off when i say mr hoover is coming out.! Pup now accepts that and (even tho he can be a yappy little dog) he stays quiet and either lies low in the kitchen or weather permitting he will lie in the garden until i have finished.

He knows i have to hoover every day - dyson is noisy but i couldn't be without it. Pup just stays a safe distance from it now!! We have always said that if intruders came in armed with a dyson then pup would let them get on with it!!!Lol!!!

However, when i have finished hoovering, pup will bring in boneo's, markies etc from his biscuit bowl and crunch them up all over the clean carpet!!! Guess he is having the last word (or woof)!!!! :o)xx

My dog hates all cleaner, dyson, hoover,LG. he barks non stop when I get it out and then attacks it. he had ripped the rubber edgeing off from it. he hates it until I have put it away.

I think it must be the noise - my youngest cat hisses and snarls at the upstairs dyson when I switch it on (she actually comes running upstairs in order to have a fight with it !!!!). The downstairs dyson has already been defeated by her - she pounced on the lead the first time I used it downstairs, so of course she is the boss there !

(Look, I know it might seem a bit excessive having two dysons but it saves me carrying one up and down a huge number of stairs every day or so.....)

Lol Jugglering!! I think you have the right idea!! I could do with one dyson upstairs and one down - in fact I may look into it!!!!

Although I like my dyson - its flipping heavy lugging it up and down the stairs - does my back in!!!!! Great idea - i'm up for it!!!! :o)
It definitely isnt the noise of the dyson mine doesnt like, she is the same when I mop the floor.

But she is an absolute looney girl, and gets excited at the slightest thing........I cant even sneeze!!!

But she is sooooooo loveable.....perhaps she is trying to save me from something terrible, like 'housework'!!

Prehaps our dogs are insanly jealous of us doing housework, and long for the day we train them to do it?
Lol doomey!!! I'm teaching pup already - if he can master the hoovering then i am up for the dusting etc!!!! Just a wee bit of training required!!!!! xxx
My yorkie absolutely loves the Dyson. I have an upright, but when I use it as a cylinder cleaner with the nozzle attachment he hangs on the end of the nozzle - seems to enjoy the feeling of being sucked up!! He loves being cleaned with the brush on the tube!!

(The other dog isn't so daft, and just goes and hides away)
I try not to use the 'v' word, and as I have wooden floors, I don't need to do it very often.

Jules, my Smooth Collie used to go ballistic if I sneezed, he would run at me as though he were an attack dog! He spent a lot of time upstairs under my bed, often ignoring me calling him down, but if I wanted him all I had to do was go 'aaaah - and before I could get the 'choo' out he was thundering down the stairs at me.
