lol Lankeela - you took the words out of my mouth!
Seriously you owe it to the poor dog to try to find it a good home, I can only suggest the Blue Cross, Dogs Protection or somewhere like that. Adverts in the paper are not a good idea - you don't know who might take him. I hope he finds a happy home

This is just how I got my lovely 'Borderline' Collie, sorry, people like you disgust me. I have always had dogs German Shepherds mostly so not small, I bought up 2 children alongside them, the dogs are my family as well, I am so bl**dy angry typing this, you don't love your dog at all, if you did you wouldn't even contemplate getting rid of him. Got to sign off here before I say something I won't regret!!
What do you mean by 'mopping up' after him? Is he not house-trained? If not surely this is something you should have worked on whilst pregnant!!! If you're just talking general mess....well it never did my kids any harm....they've been bought up around dogs [Great Danes] all of their lives and are perfectly healthy happy kids. Sounds to me like you just need to be more organised! That aside....Wildwood has always come across as a nice person......

Hi there , i would just like to set a few things straight.. We haven't put an ad in the paper we were just stating that they don't work and arn't a good idea. Also we would never let him go until we were 100 sure he had a good home. we are thinking of the dog here! we live in a top floor flat (opposite a park and with a large communal garden before any one starts) which until a few years ago was only occupied by my son and me.Now there is my husband and also a baby who has started to crawl the mopping is needed as he looses a lot of hair. We are looking for a house at the moment but are worried the dog is not getting enough attention by not being able to be in the lounge at the mo.I don't actually think we will ever get rid of our dog barney as we all love him too much! jays wife x
lets put this into perspective shall we. At the end of the day a baby is a human being and far more important than an animal no matter how much you love a pet. I don't think its fair to be horrible to someone who has posted trying to get help to rehome her dog. If jay was so irresponsible she would just let the dog out on the street and leave it. I'm sure many people do raise dogs and children together no problem but some people can't and when having a baby there's no way you can anticipate how much hard work they are until you have one. I love animals myslf and have a cat who I love dearly but if it came to choosing between the cat and my daughter do you think the child should be put up for adoption and not the pet? Get real!!!
Why isn't the dog allowed in the lounge? that is a sure way of making a dog jealous of children and then possibly going on to bite, the dog and the child need to grow up together, not in separate rooms, a few dog hairs won't harm a child, my kids crawled around the floor with the dogs, children today are molly coddled too much with cleanliness, they need to get dirty in order to build up immunity to germs, my youngest son was found playing in the dogs water bowl one day, my kids never got sick, so long as the dog is wormed regularly and deflead your child won't come to any harm, obviously monitor them when they are together, You managed to walk the dog before you had your child, so why not now? Child, pushchair/dog on lead problem solved, there is really no excuse whatsoever. Sorry.

when did we ever say the dog was not getting walked ! and sounds nice dog bowl and baby combo mmm . it is my personal choice if i dont want my baby to put dog hairs in my mouth . how dare you tell me how to look after my child! my baby is quit of fond chasing the dog round the lounge which is no fun for the dog . its the only room he can't go into for a few months while he is crawling. the dog and our baby spend a lot of time together walks etc and the babiy loves patting the dog
don,t run away with it all!! as i said before we don't really think we are getting rid of our pet ... all we need is a bigger place . you sanctamonius ****hole.

Dear jay, please don't get upset. I'm guessing you are finding it hard at the moment with your wee baby and all.
Many years ago i had a toddler, then we got a beaut pup, then another babe came along. My god it was manic!!!! However, we worked round it and my kids grew up with the wonderful dog - 15 years he was their (our) pal and companion - they loved him to bits as he loved them.
I know its difficult for you - especially living in top flat - it must be difficult for you with babe in pushchair and doggie aswell even to get out for walks etc. I think once you get a house, you will find it so much easier.
What else can i say - i have never lived in a flat but when i had the chance, when babe was asleep i used to hoover etc, husband (who did shift work) would take doggie out, we had a wee playpen in the lounge aswell and - well gradually over time it became easier and as i said previously - the kids and the dog became such good buddies - although it was a touch stressful at times, i remember those years with fondness. He was part of the family and much loved.
I hope you can work everything out - it will get easier. You will find a way. With best wishes :o) xxx

Have had my alsation over 5y now; she was 1y when I got her & had bitten someone. She's never needed a vet and has 20acres to roam, with horses, rabbits and all wildlife She has her own stable as she lives out (as a guard). I bring her in only when fire-works are let off (most Sat night for weddings locally).
I live in a gated property and need security; my dog barks at all near my gate! I only keep one dog at a time as I respect the dog's territorial traits.
I think my dog (got from the advert) has a better home than yours.....so don't knock the adverts. Remember they're are people who do live remotely and rely on such adverts!

Oh! 20 acres!! You lucky thing - i'm jealous!!!! It sounds lovely. If my pup had all that land I would never find him!!! He spends ages in my back garden - surveying the estate (Lol) - sniffing around making sure everything is ok!!!
We are not remote but my goodness he is a good little guard dog - i always feel safe with him. Again - he is such a pal to us all.
Hopefully jay90 will find a way , and the doggie will stay with her family. I hope so :o)
