Trapped wind?

Hi,
My miniature sausage dog has a weird problem. He can be fast asleep then will wake up with a yelp and cling to me, looking miserable.

This happened a couple of times and he was generally miserable all the time and I took him to the vet who said he had a bad stomach ache - I swapped his food from meat once a day to scrambled eggs three times a day and he was given antibiotics.
He recovered and is himself except he's still waking up and yelping - done it twice this week, the night after he's been fed meat in afternoon. I've put him back on scrambled eggs, he hasn't yelped since I did that.
Has anyone had similar experiences and is it trapped wind - if so, what do I feed him in the long-term?

Hi, thanks for that - we give him Tesco meat from a tin; swapped it to healthy light stuff in pouches (chicken) but he still yelped that night.
try him on some fresh cooked meat instead of tins i find the tinned stuff gives mine wind
Eggs are a binder.....try leaving the eggs out of the diet, unless they're fed raw and only 1egg per day.

Took the mutt to the vet , I still wasn't happy tho he'd perked up - he said it was a lack of mixer in his diet - he said it was like having steak every day and no potatoes. Got to gradually intriduce it into his diet and he's now fine.
Thanks to everyone who answered!
