cat litter training.

So....most of the time, my kitten goes litter tray for her abultions, but sometimes she'll be sat on the sofa, and poo right there! Obv i dont want this, so what do i do when she does, to let her know its wrong? Put her straight into her litter tray? Put her away from me? I put her in the litter tray after shes eaten etc.....help please.

Maybe you need a second litter tray so she can go in a couple of places??
If your sofa smells of cat poo she will think it is ok to go there. You need to make sure it doesn't smell.
White spirit is great for getting rid of the smell. It's very strong so you may only want to use a bit. Have done this on carpet but not tried it on sofa obviously you need to decide if it will ruin the fabric.

does you kitty have the run of your home if so confine kitty to one room only were the litter tray is. every time kitty stoops pick up and put into the litter tray. cats are normaly very clean and at some point kitty will learn what the litter tray is for. how old is the kitten?
