big white lump on goldfish :(

hiya! my goldfish has recently got this big white lump on his right side, its got a tiny bit of red in it.
sorry useless descriptipn but thats all to it! i was wondering if anybody knows what it may be? ive looked on different websites but the images didnt look the same as what mine has!
shud i ring a pet shop?
i dont wanna seem silly and take a goldfish to the vets lol

I'm not a fish expert, but I know you can get some anti-fungal liquid from pet shops to put in the water. I have a goldfish, that I put other fish in with, and soon they were dead, and my original fish used to hang, vertical, face down in the water very lifeless and had white spots. I put this anti fungal stuff in the water, and some tap water conditioner (also from pet shop) and he's fine now - that was about two years ago.

Not silly to be worried about fish - I phoned vets and begged for help!! Didnt want to lose him, he's ten now!! Will be so sad when he goes!!!! Hope your fish is better soon :-))

sound like an ulcer you can get treatmrnt from a pet store people come into our pet store with goldfish its not silly
