I want my dog to be close to me because he wants to be, not because I force him to be through pain and fear.
Besides which it would not work on my dog - when he stands on his hind legs his head is way above mine!!! You would not be able to 'pinch' the collar tight!!!
It has been proven in a recent study that people who used confrontational training methods (like pinch collars, Alpha Downs etc.) are more likely to get bitten by the dog.

This is the study:

It does not specify pinch collars (but they are confrontational/aggressive).
This is a paragraph from the article:
This study highlights the risk of dominance-based training, which has been made popular by TV, books and punishment-based training advocates, Herron said. These techniques are fear-eliciting and may lead to owner-directed aggression.

Barbaric !!! It's designed solely to subjugate the animal and to break its spirit.
They should be declared illegal with suitable punishment for offenders.
However, back in the real world, I realise that the weaklings who govern our legal systems would never dream of "letting the dog wag the tail" - for a change !!
