Dogs don't sweat WHF; whatever she smells of it's not sweat.
Is she rolling in something?
By the way, the better you think she smells the more she will try to find something smelly to roll in to get rid of the artificial smell that you have created. Vigorous brushing with a dandy brush can help.
Just a thought, have you checked her ears for infection?

she is not a dog that rollsor anything apart when I take her for her walks half hour AM and PM she just sleeps or lays around it's then when you can realy smell her, I have got some JOHNSON'S dog deodorant I do not use it much only when I take her in the car, she has a good brush every other day plus I hoover her with a special attachment which I got from a pet shop, so I do not know what to do, she has clean ears good teeth and a nice shiney coat, not dry and not to oily when she gets wet it rolls off her and no scurf, I am lost for reasons, cheersWHF
Perhaps her anal glands need clearing? It's very difficult to guess what a smell might be without actually smelling it!
If it really bothers you you will have to consult a vet, any shampoo or deodorant will just mask the smell but not address the cause.
A healthy dog should not smell bad unless it has rolled in something obnoxious (which they do tend to do).

she has had her glands cleared, the smell is like an old dog blanket that has never been washed, she is off to the vets this Friday to get her claws clipped so I shall get them to check all possible causes, maybe she needs a good brush daily, we will see. cheers WHF
Is this a recent thing? What I mean is, your dog's 9 and she's suddenly developed this smell?

you hoover your dog!
do you mean you have a special atatchment to get dog hairs from the carpet because my mum does.
we used to ghave a terrier with a bad skin condition and it really used to stink anyway my mum used to spray it with fabreze lol
No wonder it had a bad skin condition !!!
no gelda the skin condition was there prior to my mum sprayinmg it. my mum was a nurse. she used to even prescribe it antibiotics! its still alive today to tell the tale too! even out lived my mum! unbelievable. it still smells very bad though

it is a fairly recent thing I have washed every blanket, towel and bedding that she has layed on or used I notice the smell more so when she is in a car or anywhere she is close to me. Yes I hoover her I bought a special adapter which fits to the hose of the hoover it has got a comb attached to it I might add she loves it, (I bought it from Jollies pet shop) as you are combing with it the hair is sucked into the cleaner, it's brilliant, but it does not stop her from being smelly. what is the best parfumed dog shampoo she loves a bath but to often is not good so I have been told.WHF
You can buy deodorant shampoo made by Johnsons, it's pretty good, seems to work on my two when they have been rolling, you could give it a try.
