What on earth can he be doing that warrants a correcting spray at this age? For gods sake throw the damn thing away, whether or not this is what is making him subdued and tell us what he is doing so we can offer proper advice on dealing with it (which your breeder should have done before selling him to you).
Poor little mite, a baby dog , jabbed as they have to be , scared , maybe a bit off colour and so on, then being targetted by a hissing spray-- quite unbelievable.
I feel so sorry for him , and have grave doubts about your suitability to own a dog.
There really is no need for the spray and I cannot envisage that there would be in a dog so very young.
Am shocked by this , he would be better re-homed .Sorry.

I can only emphatically agree with the above answers.
The manufacturers push these sprays as the easy answer to dog training, they arn't. Do take the pup to a good training class or at least read a couple of books about training. It's not really dificult as a pup wants to please you; once you've learnt how to show the pup what it is that you want it to do you're on the way.

Being a little less forthright than the above ( because I don't want to get banned ! LOL) you have to understand that in being sold such a device you have been sold a pup (Boom! Boom ! ).He's a baby, in human terms, but a lot easier than a baby because babies don't think in terms of always wanting to please their adults, parents. He does.
He likes a cuddle and he likes a soft encouraging voice. He doesn't understand 'right' and 'wrong' in human terms, only 'approved of' and 'not approved of'. He knows the former from the approving voice and praise [wags tail, acts happy] and the latter from being stopped the instant he tries it and the disapproving voice that goes with that. [looks puzzled and tries again but gets the same response, so eventually gives up, if only because he prefers the other reaction!]
Toilet training is a bit different, because at first he's too young, not mentally developed, to know there's a place to excrete and be able to stop himself anyway. But any good book will tell you how to teach that. There's umpteen sound methods, none of them are instant ( and none of them involve punishment or sprays or corrective devices like yours !)
