could also be something as easy to treat as cystitus.

get your cat booked into the vet asap
It could be cystitis. Either way your cat needs to go to a vet urgently. Cystitis is common in cats and completely treatable with antibiotics.
Phone the vet!
Hello Red! :o) Great minds............
and Rinkins! my arent we a clever bunch today :)
You need to take the cat to the vets. My cat was peeing blood last year and turned out she had a severe case of cystitis. It may be nothing serious at all, but a vet will run some tests and give you an answer and treatment if possible.
And fools seldom differ LOL only kidding
Yes, go to vet, it might be a stone which can be very painful.

maybe a kidney infection
Are you absolutely positive the blood is coming from the cat's urethra?
I had a cat that I thought was peeing blood a few years ago, I rushed her to the vets and it turned out the blood was actually coming from a burst abscess above her tail and was dripping down as she peed making it look like it was in her urine.

Wherever the blood is coming from on your cat you need to get it checked by your vet asap!
