We are thinking of getting a Bearded Collie pup - does anyone have one?

Not personally but often travel to shows with a lady who breeds them. They are real clowns, but the grooming they need is really hard work and constant.

Please ensure that you do adequate research before deciding to get a pup (of any breed). Also, I would urge you not to get one online or through small ads as these can often be bred at puppy farms. Go to the breed club website

the secretary will be able to put you in touch with consciencious breeders where you can get a healthy pup. In any and all instances be sure that you see the pup with it's mother in the place that it is kept, and try to see the father as well if possible. You can tell a lot about the pup's temperament from it's parents, and from the surroundings it is kept in you will get a feeling as to how well it has been socialised. Don't be tempted into getting a 'bargain' puppy as you will almost certainly pay for this later in vet's bills.
