Our yorkshire terrier bit a deliveryman on his hand this morning and im not sure what to do. He rang the doorbell and as she always does she went nuts so i had to lock her in while i answered the door. My 2 year old opened the door and she ran out and went straight for him and caught him on his hand. I immedietly grabbed her back, apologised, and locked her up, but when i went back to the door he had left the parcel on the floor, got back into his van and drove off holding his hand. I wanted to check he was ok, to see if she had drawn blood and to apologise again etc but understandably he didnt want to stick around. The van was a plain white one so i cant phone a head office to see if he is ok and im not sure what to do now, i am not doubting that it was my fault as it is, im the owner so i am responsible. Other than when someone rings the bell etc she is a very pleasent dog and has never been known to attack anyone, even when our toddler got a little heavy handed with her in the past, so ive been really shook up by this mornings behaviour. She had pups 5 weeks ago, would this change her personality to being nasty? I really dont know what to do, im expecting a call from the police or something, in a way im hoping i do just so that i can check if this guy is ok or not.

If I was a delivery bloke and i'd been bit by a YT, I wouldn't want to make a big fuss of it.
If she has only recently weaned her puppies, she would still be in a protective mode. I wouldnt worry about it, I doubt you will hear anything else.
My dog 'got' the postie a few years back - the injury was minor and the postie got a shock (Lab/GSD - bit dog) but he never reported it.

I would think that a yorkie bit would be more a nip than a bite.

You will hopefully never hear from the company and he might even be self employed - many of the delivery guys are these days.

I hope the puppies are well.

ah thanks guys for the replies. Pups are doing well though i have to say i will kind of be glad to see them all rehomed now in the next couple of weeks, there alot more hard work than i thought lol. 2 of the pups are moving to people who live on our street and my cousin is having the 3rd so we will still see them on a regular basis which is nice .
our family dog bit postman, he was chasing his bike and postman kicked him. Dad was fined.
