Further than a chuckit?!
My dog loves her chuckit but I was wondering if there is any product on the market that throws a ball further than a chuckit?
Thanks

A friend of mine practically INVENTED that before its time.
Take a nice whippy branch off a tree, about 4' long, stab a crabapple (or a small potato) onto the end and whip the thing over your head - the apple goes like a freakin rocket !
I smashed someone's greenhouse way in the distance with one of these, AND set off a car alarm in the other direction (over my house) one night.

Mr Ap is talking about the tennis ball launcher, which his friend practically invented, but didn't get the crabapple on a branch prototype in to Dragon's Den and missed out on the patent..

Those chuckit things are great, will throw the ball three times further than by hand and effortless (almost) these are however made by various companies, we bought one a few weeks ago, it was so flimsy that if i gave it too much welly the ball would fall out of the contraption onto my head, we threw that one away on the first day. The next new one sends the ball into orbit!! :-)
All I need now is a bloody dog that actually retrieves the bloody ball!!! has anybody ever crossed a Irish Wolfhound with a retriever? :-)

We sell these, and they do come in different 'grades'. The ones from the pound shops tend to be shorter and flimsier, but the ones we get from the pet wholesalers are better. We refer to them as 'fling and brings' but the official name of ours is 'throw and fetch' but I do like the name 'chuckit'. The ball on a rope can get a fair way too if you swing it round your head first, although mine always seem to go in the opposite direction when I let them go.
anneasquith - if you have been using the half length chuckit then you will be v impressed with the longer one (fnaar fnaar!!)
I agree that there are many different types/qualities of chuckit.. generally we have found that the broader the stem, the further the ball goes.
I have seen this and wondered how good it might be:

My friend's 'invention' was called a "Dennising pole" and the practice of launching (mostly crab-apples) subsequently referred to as "Dennising".
The name came about one day when they tried it out for the first time in the local park; the crab-apple went out of site over a row of trees, there was a "bop" then the sound of a child going "Owwww!" then a woman's voice saying "Oooh Dennis! are you alright!?"
