Boots who is 16+yo is constantly following me about, he rushes into the kitchen and sits looking at his bowl at least 20 times a day, I give him fresh chicken and buy Whiskas, Felix,, Tescos own, Morrisons own and anything else I think he might eat. He also sits by me and stares at me and my slightest movement meens he rushes to his bowl. This is not really a question but he's driving me mad, anyone any suggestions.

In the abscence of a medical condition - humour him, feed appropriate food and feel good that , at 16, this cat has a caring owner.
Agree with Wolf and carmalee. It is likely to be dementia which is extremely common in cats. Does he yowl a lot or pace about during the night and not settle very well? They seem to crave attention. Or as others have said it could be a kidney problem which can give them an increased appetite, although they can't actually eat the food because it makes them feel sick. You should definitely get him checked over, he can probably be helped.
Get him checked out, as others have said, he's an old boy and probably needs a few things monitored. You should be feeding him senior cat food to get the nutrients an older cat needs, too, not the ordinary versions. My guys shout for food at every available opportunity - they have to wait - 7am and 5pm, no other times, otherwise they'd be snacking all day.
