Removing tar from coat.

Hi, I look after a grey horse and he has managed to get his head, ears and neck covered in tar from some fence rails. Does anyone know of a product or safe way to remove it? Any help greatly appreciated. :-)

You could try rubbing vegetable oil or baby oil well into the affected area before washing off with shampoo..
