Fizzy would have had a great life as a family pet. What you're doing now is the last act of kindness you can show it.

going to leave work at 1 i think so i can stay with her for a couple of hours before we take her to the vet. i just feel really bad about the whole thing!
Don't feel bad for Fizzy. You are doing what is right. When I had my old lady put to sleep, I came home early and we had a nice afternoon sitting in the sun together and cuddling. Spend some time with her.

Up to you whether you go in with her or stay in the car. I am pleased I held my old girl to the end and saw how peaceful it was. It is very distressing though.

I'm really sorry to hear that it's her time though.

thanks barmaid, i think ill know what to do when the time comes, but i dont want to have left her in the vets and not be with her and then an hour later think that i should have been yano?
I always stay with mine - the vets are very understanding and usually give you some time and they certainly don't mind if the tears start to flow. Its very peaceful and the final act of kindness you can do.
