My Cat seems to be impervious to front line (supposedly the best protection against fleas)
To day I have bathed her (which she like's...!)
and put on two pipette's of front line!
Agree with Helen about carpets, you really need to be rigorous with the house spray, move all the furniture and spray the carpet thoroughly.
I'm using Advocate on the puppy and kitten and touch wood no more fleas.
It's flipping expensive though (although its a wormer too, which means that you don't have to remember to worm them seperately)
I've only had one cat but several dogs. I never really had any joy with the various sprays and powders I bought. The dogs didn't like them and as Slinky says, they were expensive. I then tried the plastic flea collars which I bought from Wilkos for about £2 - and they were brilliant! The fleas disappeared within a day or so and never came back. The collars are impregnated with the anti-flea chemicals and they prevent the fleas making their way to the head to drink from the eyes and mouth. They soon jump off. I rememebr something similar working for the cat years ago.
I hope that's useful MrIncredible and excuse me asking a question.
Slinky - How's Geoff? Keeping you fit and meeting lots of new people?
Hi Andy, Geoff's fine ta, finally flaked out in front of the fire after a day spent walking, chasing the kitten, playing football, playing with the tennis ball, avoiding the chickens, humping the kitten (naughty Geoff!) barking at the postman, and madly wagging his tail every time he sees a child.
Just a normal day in Geoffworld!
Frontline spray is the best stuff to use but its only available on prescription. Costs a bit more but it kills fleas on contact and they stay flea free for quite a time. use in conjunction with a household spray. Don't use more than the recommended dose of a 'spot on' (pipette) as they can be lethal if overdosed. Never use a dog one on a cat either.
I have 2 cats and a puppy. Fleas on my puppy were oblivious to frontline so I tried Advocate on cats and puppy. This appears to have done the trick. Also get a good spray for any bedding after this has been washed. I wash bedding once a week. And spray carpets and furniture. Best of luck.
It sounds like you will have to buy a smoke bomb, this should get rid of fleas in your house,be careful about putting 2 Frontline on your cat,it could be dangerous.
