My vet told me that I shouldn't give my cat a lot of plain white fish, that cat food is better for him and too much fish will damage his kidneys. Is this true ?

He does like cat food but I think he fancies a change now and then. Not too much white fish then ! Thanks Helen.
Can't give my cat too much of anything. What she eats one day she won't touch the next. Or she'll lick the jelly off and leave the rest. Prawns, chicken, fish, all OK for breakfast but not for dinner, on a Tuesday but not on a Wednesday if you get my drift.
cats would not normally eat much fish in the wild therefore too much is definitely bad for them. Our moggy used to like pilchards in tomato sauce
